[RECEIVERSHIPS & SPECIAL MASTER WORK] The Hammocks Community Association, Inc. (“Hammocks”) is one the largest community associations in the State of Florida. The Hammocks’ former board members were arrested and charged with theft and other crimes. Two days later, the Court appointed Ret. Judge David Gersten as Receiver. The Receiver hired Maia and MM&H to represent him in about 50 cases. The 50 cases include: defending the Hammocks in mortgage foreclosure cases, prosecuting foreclosure cases against residents for not paying assessments but first investigating if the assessments are legitimate, and investigating cases filed by previous counsel.
